Flu vaccination and pregnancy – What pregnant women need to know.

(relaxing music) – [Spokesperson] Pregnant
women who receive the influenza vaccine protect
their babies and themselves. Influenza is far more than a cold. Pregnant women who catch influenza are five times more likely
to end up in intensive care than other women. Influenza during pregnancy
can lead to premature delivery and even death in very young babies. Pregnant women who are
immunised against influenza give their babies over 60% protection. – You can have influenza
vaccination at any time during your pregnancy and
at any time of the year. Influenza immunisation
in pregnancy is safe and it can be given at
any time during pregnancy. – [Spokesperson] Each
time you’re pregnant, be immunised against influenza.
