Optical Pulse Oscillography (OPO/OAD) – Finger & Toe Pressure Measurement

The combination with the AngE Pro 4 or the
AngE Pro 8 oscillography system enables automatic toe pressure measurements. The newly developed optical sensors of the
AngE Phlebo allow, besides the venous measurement, the measurement of the arterial pulsations. Using finger clips or adhesive rings, the
infrared sensors are attached to fingers or toes. The arterial pulsations are recorded for a
few seconds at rest and then a finger cuff is inflated with supra-systolic pressure. The cuff pressure is continually reduced so
that the reappearance of the pulse waves marks the toe arterial pressure. This subsequently allows the calculation of
the Toe Brachial Index, TBI.
