Tionna Moore

Tionna was born January 31st. She’s the
third of three girls. She’s very smart, she speaks her mind, loves gymnastics. She’s full of life and full of energy. My sister Tionna, she’s just an amazing
person to be around. She spreads joy wherever she goes. She’s my best friend. Tionna had been having a stomachache for about two weeks. We took her to the doctor, and they told me that she had a
stomach virus, and to give it 24 hours and it should go away. I ended up taking
her to the emergency room the next day. Once the blood work came back, they told
us that it looked like she had leukemia and… …for a parent to hear those words, that
your child has leukemia, it broke me. After Tionna’s first induction with
chemo, we found out that she would have to have a bone-marrow transplant.
So, nine months in, they decided that they would use Tedreyonce as her donor,
and we found out that Tionna had engrafted with her sister’s cells. It was
amazing, because after being in the hospital for nine months, and to hear that, it was just amazing. Something inside had already told me that I was going to be the one to save Tionna’s life. I just kind of knew it. Even today, I would do it again because I would do anything for my sister. I would
die for her. I would do anything, because I love her very much. Tionna’s case was complicated from the
beginning to the end, and to watch Doctor Slayton and his team work to find
ways to help her… it was amazing to watch them and to know that they were not
giving up.
